Its name originates from an area settled by Turkmen tribes from Afghanistan. These rugs are often distinguished by their exquisite use of 100% natural vegetable and mineral dyes. The wool traditionally used to make these rugs was taken from Himalayan sheep, today you can also find these rugs crafted with wool from New Zealand. The wool used to make these rugs is hand-spun and the rugs are hand crafted with great care. Natural dyes used produce a soft luminous shades and an abrash not possible to obtain from chemical dyes. |
